Welcome to the North Bucks Rural Business Network web site. This is a joint project between Aylesbury Vale & Rural Milton Keynes LEADER and the NFU.

When LEADER was first established in Buckinghamshire in 2008 a key objective for the Local Action Group was to help rural businesses in North Bucks network amongst themselves, to provide easy access to any relevant rural businesses, community information and access to business and community funding. It may interest you to know that the outline of the tree logo is also the border of the Aylesbury Vale and Milton Keynes LEADER LAG Area.

I hope you will find the access to the library, business contacts, funders, rural events and most importantly, networking with each other, really useful. We just don't quite know how this network will develop over the years, that will depend on what people use and what feedback we get. So if you have ideas for the site please let us know.

To find out more about LEADER grants of up to £50,000 visit www.LEADER-Programme.org.uk and to find out more about the NFU contact www.nfuonline.com/

Thanks

Nick Phillips

The UK's oldest farmers

As the article says, changes in retirement age are not particularly relevant to those of you in the farming world as work continues well passed statutory limits anyway. Do you have any stories to add of your most senior relatives who are still heavily involved in the farm???

Bucks rural businesses hit the news

Afternoon all,

Did any of you catch Nick on the BBC Oxford News on Friday evening? It was a feature on how LEADER has helped rural businesses. Unfortunately the feature has now been removed from iplayer however, hopefully we shall be able to put a video up soon when the reporter is able to send it to me.

In the meantime, please have a look at the attached…

Grant funding available for GPS kit subject to meeting the requirements

Have any of you read this week's Farmers Weekly yet or is that a treat for tonight whilst thawing out next to the fire?

When you do see it you might want to have a look at the article written about Mentmore Park Farms which talks about the benefits of GPS.

The LEADER Programme has successfully funded GPS equipment for two farmers…

Sustination is a relatively new organisation which is working to "join the dots" between suppliers and customers, take a look and see if it could be of use to you?

The Oxford farming Cenference

Dear Lucy

Many thanks for your email.
